Never Mind

As my husband and I planned to celebrate New Year’s in Copenhagen, we stumbled upon a charming bar that seemed perfect for our celebration. However, our excitement was marred by a disheartening incident. To avoid the long queues, we decided to apply for the bar’s VIP card. While my application was swiftly accepted, my husband’s, bearing an Arabic name, was inexplicably rejected. Suspecting an unfair bias, he reapplied using a distinctly French name and was immediately approved. This stark contrast in response was not just shocking but deeply concerning. This experience casts a shadow on our perception of the bar. It’s disheartening to encounter such apparent discrimination, especially in a place that’s supposed to be inclusive and welcoming. While the bar’s ambiance and offerings might be appealing, such incidents raise serious questions about its commitment to equality and respect for all patrons. Bars like these deserve to fail.

I was there 2 weeks ago. Music is just fine, prices are reasonable. Super crowded on Saturday nights (you literally can't dance, even move) and if you are a non-smoker you are dead! Smoking allowed inside.

Never mind, indeed!! The first time I've ever been turn away from a bar or club. Showed up with my boyfriend, showed my US passport to the security guard at the door, and was told "Not tonight" and asked to leave. We weren't drunk, rude, or obnoxious. Apparently there's some discrimination here against Americans, since the patrons behind us with U.K. Passports were let in without a second thought. Would never recommend such a place. Never mind this bar... go to G-A-Y or Cosy Bar instead.
